JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The spirit of giving is alive and well in Jacksonville as hundreds of toys were handed out to families along Bay Street Friday morning.

Families this holiday season were able to stop by a drive-thru giveaway and pick up a toy of their choice, no questions asked.

Before Santa Claus goes around the world giving gifts to children, Chris Campione and his friends at the North Florida Medical Center buy several gifts and store them at the Campione Law office.

Campione, who was present wearing a Santa suit, said it’s nearly $30,000 worth of toys.

“Giving is so much better than receiving,” Campione said.

Occasionally, Campione would give a kid a Nintendo Switch lite or Beats headphones. Januel Tejada said he always wanted a Nintendo Switch and “finger skateboards.” He was seen hugging his family when Campione handed him the electronic.

“I’m very happy because I’ve never gotten the chance to experience a gift like this,” Januel said with a smile.

To Campione, he looks forward to holidays because it’s worth seeing the look on kids’ faces when they are given a gift.

“It’s the 20 or 30 kids a year you can really tell wouldn’t be able to have that feeling. That makes it more than worth it to me. It’s absolutely special,” Campione said.
